£325M Deal Secures Expansion Plans For The Manchester Airports Group
A landmark £325m deal jointly led by The Co-operative Bank Plc and AIB Capital Markets has been agreed to fund Manchester Airport Group’s plans for expansion.

With last year’s government white paper confirming the importance of aviation as one of the main drivers of the regional economy, the deal is a significant step for Manchester Airport Group who own Manchester, Nottingham East Midlands, Bournemouth and Humberside Airports.

The £325m will be used to expand the terminal facilities at Manchester Airport. In addition a new passenger terminal is planned at Nottingham East Midlands Airport with further investment also earmarked for Humberside and Bournemouth Airports.

A Manchester Airport spokesperson said: "This £325m revolving credit facility is another major step forward for the Manchester Airports Group. It is the first syndicated bank loan for Manchester Airport Group and establishes the Group name in the banking and capital markets. Our strategy involves enhancing the facilities at airports across the group while significantly benefiting passenger comfort.

“The facility will be used to refinance existing bank debt and to fund the expansion of the group's airports."
